William and Lodie B. Griffin were the beloved grandparents of Anthony M. Stovall, Founder and President of the FHL Leadership Group. This scholarship was established in their honor, in deep appreciation for the values, lessons, and legacy they instilled throughout the Griffin family. Although their formal education ended in middle school, their leadership was profound - demonstrated not through titles or degrees, but through their actions, discipline, and the undeniable results of their hard work. Integrity, character, and perseverance were the hallmarks of their success.

William Griffin, affectionately known as “Grandpa,” was an extraordinary man - reliable, honorable, and steadfast. His words and deeds were beyond reproach, leaving an indelible mark that transcends time and change. Known for his compassion, he readily helped anyone in need, whether repairing a neighbor’s car or assisting a stranger passing through. He served his country with dignity and pride, but above all, he deeply loved and protected his family.

Lodie Griffin, lovingly called “Momoo,” was a woman of remarkable strength and unshakable resolve. She played a pivotal role in shaping the man Anthony is today. Her bold, unwavering child-rearing methods inspired generations of younger Griffin family members, teaching them humility, discipline, and the true meaning of hard work. As the family’s matriarch and “Queen Bee,” she was the cornerstone who held the family together and the conduit through which their legacy continues to flow.

They are loved, cherished, and profoundly missed.
